Freightliner Western Star Detroit

Get Ahead allows our Diesel Truck students to participate in Daimler dealership level training, giving our students a chance to strengthen their knowledge on basic skills and increase their knowledge on Freightliner and Western Star systems. Curriculum

The available curriculum is comprised of the following certifications:

VEHICLES (Freightliner & Western Star)

  • Heavy Duty Truck Systems
  • Electrical Troubleshooting
  • Electronic Systems
  • CEEA+
  • HVAC
  • M2 (exposure to content)
  • Cascadia (exposure to content)
  • Western Star (exposure to content)

ENGINES (Detroit)

  • DD Heavy Duty (Basic Diagnostics and Major Repair)

Eligibility

  • An industry accepted diesel program, upon the completion of which a student receives a degree or certificate.
  • A Daimler Truck North America service network partner, i.e. a Freightliner and/or Western Star dealership, or Detroit distributor. A dealer partnership grants access to both vehicle and engine training, while a distributor partnership only enables the school to participate in engine training.
  • Daimler Truck North America reserves the right to approve or deny entry into the program based on the above or additional criteria following internal review of the submitted program application.

Requirements

  • Ensure each instructor is certified in the courses he/she is administering.
  • Perform program administrative duties in DTNA's Learning Management System, including adding new students to, and removing graduated students from, the program.
  • Administer training as best seen fit in collaboration with your DTNA service network partner.
  • Ensure access to the curriculum is granted only to the authorized persons at your organization.

Service Network Responsibilities

  • Assist your partner school with program administration and serve as the primary contact for questions relating to training courses and the Learning Management System.
  • Help shape the DTNA training catalog based on the needs of today’s diesel technicians and integrate it into your partner school’s curriculum.
  • Collaborate with your partner school to ensure the training delivery is optimized for the students and instructors involved.
  • Be the liaison between DTNA and diesel schools, generating and communicating feedback to foster continuous improvement.
